IT Waste Disposal

IT Waste Disposal

In the digital age we live and work in, organisations are becoming more and more conscious of data and IT security. The need for a safe, environmentally friendly climate to work in is more prominent than ever. We offer market-leading IT Waste Disposal that complies with the highest standards of ISO.

Our on-site secure data destruction ensures that any sensitive data can be disposed of without leaving the clients premises.

  • All items recorded and certified.
  • All types of data & media disposed of safely.
  • Items shredded to 30mm or 6mm for highly sensitive data.
  • On-site shredding service using our Data Destruction Recycling Vehicle.
  • Hard drives, CDs/DVDs, Tape Media, Flash Media, RAM, Mobile phones & PDAs.

One of the greatest concerns is the removal of personal and/or sensitive data from redundant IT equipment – which is more of a priority with the upcoming GDPR legislation in May 2018. Apogee Desktop Services uses the latest software in line with all our approved accreditations and standards to permanently destroy all data required.

Too many organisations are unaware exactly what and how much data is saved on their equipment’s hard drives, and even worse what happens to this hard drive (HDD) once their equipment is replaced.

Apogee offer two solutions to combat the ‘forgotten’ hard drive issue; a certified data overwrite where the HDD on every hardware device is overwritten and you will receive a licensed certificate for each HDD, in accordance with ISO standards. Alternatively, we will remove the HDD from the hardware equipment and return them to you to securely dispose of in compliance with your current security policy.

Our qualified team of field engineers will typically deliver each system to the end user’s desk as follows:

  • Disconnect the old hardware
  • Collecting and labeling the old system for final disposal as per our colour label coding system
  • Connecting power, network and peripheral cables to the new system
  • Transferring end user data, system personality features, printer and drive mappings
  • Acceptance testing by user or your nominated IT staff
  • Updating asset management records
  • Removal of packaging, re-used where possible, alternatively the packaging is sent to our recycling partner

Your first step is meeting with one of our Desktop Services experts who will take time to understand your organisation and the unique way your people, processes and technology currently work.

Apogee DS deliver 2,500 pre-configured
computers to NHS Foundation Trust

This year, suppliers were invited to submit bids for staging and deploying over 2,500 desktop computers and laptops across the Trust and 56 GP practices in Rotherham and surrounding areas. Apogee Desktop Services were awarded the supply and service agreement and started the process of implementing a project plan, working to Prince2 policy standard and tailoring our services to meet the exact needs of the Trust.

Apogee stored, configured, imaged, deployed and cascaded desktops and laptops to desk across various GP practices. In addition, familiarisation training was provided to ensure every user derived the full benefit of the new equipment and software from the outset. Apogee worked as an extension of the Trusts IT Team and rolled out technology over a three-month period, while providing full project management assistance throughout.
