Typically our clients provide their preferred asset tag design and details of the information they wish to see on the asset tag prior to implementing this service. However, our pre and post sales team will gladly advise in the development and implementation of this service which is used by the vast majority of our clients.

Asset tags identify equipment using a unique serial number or barcode. Asset tags are typically labels that have an adhesive backing. Common designs include the company logo and a border that provides contrast to the equipment.

Barcodes are used on asset tags to speed data entry and to reduce field entry errors. The function of asset tags has changed – to accommodate ever smaller, more mobile and more valuable assets. As a result, asset tags have changed – to be more smaller, more tamper resistant and to become more closely integrated with asset tracking software.

We work with you to advise on how you will track systems when they arrive at your business. With our asset reporting you can easily integrate new assets into your existing asset management systems. Our asset report can be emailed daily, weekly or monthly, and serves as a useful tracking tool for identifying all PCs shipped in the agreed time frame. This report is emailed in Excel or .csv format and contains information about the computer systems purchased, as a minimum it will include the following:

  • Date Installed
  • Your Order Reference
  • End User
  • Location/Room
  • Asset Number
  • Make of unit
  • Model
  • Serial Number/ Mac Address
  • Any options added
  • Warranty Cover

Apogee DS deliver 2,500 pre-configured
computers to NHS Foundation Trust

This year, suppliers were invited to submit bids for staging and deploying over 2,500 desktop computers and laptops across the Trust and 56 GP practices in Rotherham and surrounding areas. Apogee Desktop Services were awarded the supply and service agreement and started the process of implementing a project plan, working to Prince2 policy standard and tailoring our services to meet the exact needs of the Trust.

Apogee stored, configured, imaged, deployed and cascaded desktops and laptops to desk across various GP practices. In addition, familiarisation training was provided to ensure every user derived the full benefit of the new equipment and software from the outset. Apogee worked as an extension of the Trusts IT Team and rolled out technology over a three-month period, while providing full project management assistance throughout.
